General Manager
The Santa Ana Watershed Project Authority (SAWPA) is a Joint Powers Authority with five member agencies. SAWPA is a utility that owns and operates the Inland Empire Brine Line, a 73-mile brine collection system removing over 500,000 pounds of salt daily ensuring the highest and best use of groundwater resources and expanding water reclamation capabilities. SAWPA has collaboratively secured water bonds and IRWM grant funding totaling over $250 million and created the framework to select the best multi-benefit projects. Fifty projects valued at over $860 million providing 342,000 acre-feet of new water annually have been completed. SAWPA administers the One Water One Watershed IRWM plan and manages multiple roundtables to resolve interagency conflicts such as TMDLs and address regional water issues through collaborative partnerships in the Santa Ana River Watershed.

SAWPA is seeking a General Manager who is diplomatic, an effective leader and proven manager with exceptional interpersonal skills. Any combination of experience, education, and training that provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities will be considered. A typical candidate will have twelve (12) years of progressively responsible executive/ senior level management experience, preferably in water, wastewater, and/or water resources, and the equivalent of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in planning, engineering, environmental science, public administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred. Salary is open and DOQ.
