Police Chief
Located in the southeast part of the Phoenix metro area, Mesa is a city of more than 460,000 enjoying the community’s overall quality of life. The award-winning Mesa Police Department partners with community leaders, stakeholders, and citizens in developing solutions to multi-faceted community and quality of life issues. The City is seeking a Police Chief with demonstrated experience in leading and motivating staff and in fostering teamwork, innovation, and creativity in problem solving. A Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Public or Business Administration, or a related field is required, along with 10+ years of progressively responsible management experience in law enforcement at the rank of Police Lieutenant or higher. A Master’s degree is preferred. A background in investigation and polygraph is highly desired. Candidates must possess current Arizona Peace Officer Standards and Training certification or have the ability to obtain certification within one year of appointment. The salary for the Police Chief is highly competitive, dependent upon education, experience, and qualifications. The salary range for the position is $143,062-$192,546.
